About Lost Santos

Who are The Lost Santos?

As a brand, we firmly believe that everyone’s born with a dream. A dream composed of a unique purpose, a genuine perspective and the individualized skills to fulfill it. Though, in the fulfillment process, life brings a compilation of obstructions, hardships and challenges within the environment that conspire to deviate one from its destiny. Yet, the same dream will bring hope and the courage to overcome and find the way back into the journey until fulfilling the dream.

We work to lift and motivate this community to develop their art, talents, and skills into something purposeful and ignite them to overcome any obstructions, in order to fulfill their innermost dreams.

Mission

Our mission is to create a community of like-minded people who believe in living outside the standards deemed as the norm, fulfilling their dreams day by day and who portray their lifestyle and mindset through streetwear.

Genesis

The Lost Santos Brand started this streetwear journey in 2017. Lost Santos was founded by Gerardo Sáez, also known as “Gera”, who originally baptized the brand with the name of “Lost & Found”. The brand was born from an accumulation of ideas and concepts that were going to be written by him in a book. However, instead of writing his message in a book, Gera decided to start working collectively with different graphic designers to bring these concepts to life in a different form of visual art through streetwear.

After a little over three years of operating solely online, Gera found an opportunity to open a concept store for his brand at Laredo, Texas. With this opportunity, the brand was defining itself even more and in 2021, “Lost and Found” became “Lost Santos” without changing the whole narrative and essence of the same brand.

History

The Lost Santos founder, Gerardo Sáez, was raised in Puerto Rico where he was introduced at the age of 11 yrs. old into the skateboarding culture. A neighbor of his used to skate every day in the afternoons down the street, which increased his curiosity until one day he asked him to show him some tricks. The skateboard culture for him was the door to a new world with a perspective of life different than the norm of society. After this, middle school was a whole different platform for him to wear a more rebellious style all the way up to high school. When everyone used to wear adidas superstar, Air Jordans and Nike Pippens, he preferred wearing a baby blue pair of converse and a blue pair of 10 eyelets Dr. Martens steel-toe boots. At the same time Punk, ska and many other music genres brought songs to his life that became anthems of his lifestyle. After flunking several classes, he was able to finish high school and now he was more inclined into hip-hop, rap and reggaeton culture. This brought a change of style into a more 2000’s streetwear fashion in where baggy pants and T-shirts with caps were a huge statement. Because of this, he was able to work in one of the most iconic streetwear stores at that time in Puerto Rico, where many well-known reggaeton artists used to buy their clothes. Eventually, he got fired due to a lack of character due to his unhealthy lifestyle.

Time passed and Gera kept struggling with alcohol and drug use for a very long term, which also constrained him of building up his dream, which at that time he couldn’t even envisioned it after all that darkness clouding his mind. After several attempts, hospitalizations, etc. he had a spiritual awakening that formed him and now he was able to fight and overcome his demons. This led him into moving into the state of Texas, US, with a hunger of growth and dream fulfillment. Influenced by his way of life and living experiences over the past few years in these subcultures, he decided to create a brand where others, not necessarily going through the same, yet having challenges could relate and be part of a group. A subculture that could stay living against the norm, yet now with a purpose and a destiny. Welcome to The Lost Santos Familia.
